Katie is a friend with connections. No, that's not why I am friends with her. I pursued friendship with her before I knew anything about her family... or their connections. Her family is pretty great. They have some friends with lake property. And this property just so happened to be available last weekend, so Katie, Tim and I made the trip up to the lake.
This house could be featured in a magazine. Seriously. Allow me to give you a tour.
This is what you see when you arrive... the back yard and back door. Lake houses always confuse me, because you drive up from the back, so it seems like the front, but the side that is facing the lake is usually considered the front.
Quaint, right? See all of those extra quilts and blankets in the bottom of the hutch? How cozy! Sorry the picture is out of focus.
Then we go into the kitchen.
It even has a little coffee bar corner.
Here is the dining room. I love all of the color she used.
This is right by the front door as you head out toward the lake. It has everything you would need! That silver bucket is filled with extra sunglasses.
The other side of the dining room is the living room. The rug and furniture are new for this season. And there's my hot husband with his winning smile. (It's his birthday today--- HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TIM!)
Living room from another angle.
I know I'm weird, but even the bathrooms looked great. Here is the full bath on the main level. There are 3 full baths in this house.
And here it is from the other angle. I love the vintage cabin feel.
And a slightly different view. See the towel rack hanging by the door beneath the picture? They are all over this house (there was one on the porch... did you see it?). It makes perfect sense for a lake house when there are wet beach towels and swimsuits galore. Just another well thought-out detail.
Bathroom again. This one is upstairs. The shower is back there with the glass door.
And here's the sink area with that awesome window.
And here's the front yard, overlooking the lake.
Front yard dining area (we didn't take the cover off the table because we didn't want to figure out how to put it back on :) I think that table expands to hugeness.
Gorgeous containers outside the front door in the seating area.
It was a very relaxing weekend. Lots of just sitting around and reading. It was a little cold and rainy, but it cleared up for Tim to get some good pictures of the sunset on Saturday.
