A few things you should probably check out

So, we had a bit of snow last night.  And its bitter cold outside.

Did I build a fire in the fireplace?
No.
Why not?
The zippo was out of fuel, and I didn't know how to re-fill it, and all the matches were in the garage and I didn't want to trek out there and get them.

That's the story of my day.  Oh yeah, I also worked from home and got a TON done.  It was wonderful.

Moving Dirt and Building Walls

I know you may think this will never end, but I'm going to finish up with the construction portion of our trip today.  There are still many stories headed your way in the future, but let's at least finish this project.

As you may recall, Monday we dug footers, placed posts, and filled it with concrete.  Oh yeah... and Tim and Shane became very, very dehydrated.  But everyone live to tell about it, and we were back on site on Tuesday.

What were YOU doing New Year's Eve (Day)?

Hey Kids!  Sorry the posting dropped off there for awhile.  I'm back now to continue telling my Honduran tales.

Now where were we?  Oh yes.  Here.  At Victoria's.

Sunday School and Church in Honduras

Sunday morning was Sunday School... for children only.  No adults came.  Alex (one of the houseparents) took the bus around and picked children up.  If I understand correctly, all of the kids he picks up come to the feeding program during the week.

Our team was responsible for the entire hour and a half.

We started by singing our songs from the night before.

Arrival & Day 1

I guess it's about time I shared what we were actually doing in Honduras...along with a hearty dose of pictures (read: this is a long post but mostly pictures).

Let's start at the very beginning, shall we?  I hear it's a very good place to start.

Here we are the morning we left the church.  This was at 2:30 in the morning.  Obviously, everyone is looking alive, alert, awake, and enthusiastic (with the exception of Yours Truly).
Our flights went smoothly, although our connection was excruciatingly tight in Atlanta.  We got to our gate right as they were starting to board.  Praise the Lord our gates were close!  One of many answers to prayer.

Before Honduras

Last August at the annual church picnic, our friend, Steve The Youth Pastor, asked us to pray about going with the team of youth to Honduras in December.  Tim instantly said "sign us up!" and I was like....hold on... let's check our schedule.

We determined that we could go on the trip, and this trip is what I have been living for for the past several months.

Home from Honduras

Our long-awaited trip to Honduras has come and gone.  We got home last night, enjoyed a hot shower and then slept hard in our own bed.
