Land's End (Year 3)

Life has been pretty busy lately, so I haven't had time to sweep my floor, much less post pictures and tell y'all  about the nonsense that gone on around these here parts.  I will try to get you caught up.

Let's start with Lands' End.

On Sunday (July 29), Jenn and I skipped church and journeyed up to Dodgeville to shop till we dropped.  The past two years, I went on the last day of the sale, so everything was 75% off the lowest price.  Great deals, but it was kind of slim pickins.

I wasn't sure what to expect this year, since it was the second to last day, but it turns out things were 50%.  Not too shabby, and way more selection.  Also, there were tables and tables with boxes and boxes of "samples."  I have no idea why they were samples, but they were marked "samples"  and they were only $1 (not 50% off $1).  There was basically NO rhyme or reason to their placement on the tables, other than you could sort of figure out that one area was kids stuff, one area was women's, etc.  Some of the items didn't even have sizes marked.  It was total chaos.

Over. whelming.

Of course I bought way more than I needed, but I got some good stuff.  Here it is:

Top Row (left to right):

  • Basic white, no-iron pinpoint oxford.  I am very, very excited about this. Definitely a wardrobe staple, definitely high-quality (the no-iron is for-reals), and definitely a good price.
  • Blue V-Neck t-shirt.  I really love the color, and I love v-necks.
  • Pink t-shirt.  I have been wanting a t-shirt in this color of pink for awhile.
  • Light pink t-shirt.  It looked comfy.
  • Pink cardigan.  WITH RUFFLES!!!
  • Drapy gray cardigan that I LOVE.  I am really, really excited about this purchase.

Middle Row (Left to right):

  • Navy shoes.  I needed navy shoes to wear with a skirt.  These are not the shoes.  I was questioning them before I bought them,  but I really needed navy shoes.  The first day I wore them I had major buyer's remorse.  So uncomfortable.  So not the right shoes for the skirt.  Grr.  Maybe I will learn to like them.  It happens sometimes...
  • Windbreaker.  I couldn't decide between this and two super-cute trenches.  I decided on this because it is shorter, and I really don't need something as dressy as a trench.  Plus it has a hood.  I'm glad I decided on this one.

Bottom Row:

  • Striped t for mom.
  • Red t for mom.
  • Blue t for mom.
  • Black leggings.  They are really nice.  I'm really excited about them.
  • Khakis.  I was questioning these like I was questioning the shoes.  I wore them the day after the shoes, and I was SO, SO GLAD that I bought them.  I love them.  They are a really nice material.  They are super-comfy.  And--best of all-- they FIT.

So you know how you are there at the store, and you don't know if you should buy something.  Sometimes you buy it and you wish you hadn't.  Sometimes you don't buy it and you wish you had.

How you you win at this game?  Can someone please tell me?

In summary, I purchased 13 items and spent $99.43.  More than I have ever spent at the sale, but I got a bunch of things I really love.  And I discovered another pair of pants that fit me.

But best of all... I had 7 hour to chat with Jenn and catch up on life... it had been way too long.

Thanks for going with me, Jenn!  Who's going to join us next year?
