The Basement: Week 2- Breaking Up and Moving Out

Hi everybody!  I'm sure you've been waiting all day to hear about progress on our basement, so let's not waste anymore time.

Last week, we got A LOT of stuff out of the basement.  Most of it went into the garage.  A lot of it also ended up in the trash.

LAST WEEK:

We took another pickup load of rubble to the dump on Saturday as well. This view demonstrates the progress the best.

Ok, so the progress maybe doesn't translate very well in the pictures, but trust me... there was progress!  I felt good about what we had accomplished.

Tonight we had some friends come over and help us, and in just a couple of hours accomplished about as much as all week last week.  Many hands make light work, and the encouragement of having people just being here supporting us is wonderful.

I won't include tonight's progress in this post (since this is last week's progress), but here is a sneak peak.

We've found some fun/ interesting things underneath the concrete.  The Chamber of Secrets may or may not have been opened...

Also worth mentioning: Tim got the washer and dryer hooked up!

The washer gets its water and then drains into the toilet :)  It's a little crowded in the breakfast nook now, and some may see it as a major invasion of personal space.  I, for one, am thrilled about it.  Main level laundry!!!!  I can't tell you how exciting this is!!!  I shouldn't get too used to it though, since they're moving back downstairs after Midwest Basement Systems finish.

36 days until Midwest Basement comes!  The clock is ticking, but I think we'll be ready.
