Wyoming Adventures

We've been on a bit of an adventure lately.

We spent last week with Tim's extended family in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  Tim's grandfather went there several times as a child, Tim's mom grew up going out there, and Tim did as well.  This was my first time out there, and it was awesome.

On the south edge of Grand Teton National Park, there are lots of adventures to be had in Jackson Hole.  And we had lots of them.

Including (but not limited to):

• Hiking
• Alpine Slide
• Cliff Diving
• Backpacking
• Camping
• Boating
• Fishing
• Shopping
• Antiquing
• And a few very competitive rounds of Ticket to Ride 

On the way out we took the scenic route and visited the Badlands (one of my favorites), Mt. Rushmore, dinosaur footprints in Wyoming, and Yellowstone National Park (including Old Faithful).

Also on the list of highlights: license plates!!!

As on every road trip, we kept a list of the license plates we saw.  And this trip did not disappoint!!!  We got :

• 49 of the 50 states (Rhode Island just didn't show for us!)
• 7 Canadian Provinces:
• Manitoba
• (Beautiful) British Columbia
• Alberta
• Ontario
• Qubec
• Saskatchewan
• Yukon
• 2 Mexican States/ Provinces (does anyone know what they're called down there?)
• Sinoloa
• Montevideo
• US Government 
• US Consulate
• Washington DC

We also saw lots of wildlife.  These bison crossed the road in front of us.

Have I mentioned how BEAUTIFUL it is out there?  Stunning.

Yes.  Yes that is me jumping off the cliff!  Yes, yes it was kind of a rush.  Also: the water was cold.

We got home last night at 10:30.  Getting back to real life is kind of like a bucket of cold water in the face: harsh, startling, and unpleasant, but kind of refreshing.

I love the mountains so much, that I created a mountain at home... a mountain of laundry. I think I'll be doing laundry for 3 weeks straight.

Have you ever been to Jackson Hole?  What's the best you've ever done at the license plate game?  Has anyone ever gotten all 50?!
